10,000 Bonus for National Workers

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Administrative Order No. 213 giving the government's 1.4 million workers a Christmas bonus of P10,000, citing a "robust of the economy and the commendable effort exerted... in attaining efficiency in government operations have contributed to the generation of savings.

The Performance Bonus CY 2007 be given to workers employed by national government agencies, corporations and financial institutions, as well as others who have rendered at least four months of service and be given on not earlier than December 15, 2007

Employees with less than four months service will get a bonus on a prorated basis.

The national government through the Department of Budget and Management would shell out P7,000 for each employee and that this would total around P7 billion.

The remaining P3,000 will be shouldered by concerned agencies through their savings.
